Substance Abuse Committee: The Substance Abuse Committee welcomes new volunteers to join us in the process of building relationships by forming a community action group to help prevent the abuse of drugs by youth in the North Shore area. We plan to build relationships with all sectors of the community to help prevent the abuse of drugs by our youth. It is important for many people to convince the youth in our community that the risks associated with drug use are not worth taking, and that they can make more positive alternative choices. Specific goals for the meeting will include the following:

1) To review findings from a student assessment survey and focus group discussions.
2) To review the district initiatives related to substance abuse
3) To review current substance abuse information from a law enforcement perspective
4) To share ideas on what all stakeholders can contribute to help keep our youth drug-free and to plan for a large “Drug Free” Community Forum
