Child Nutrition

Free and Reduced Price School Meals 2016-2017

* A new Application must be submitted every year!

Please send your children to school with a bagged lunch until you are notified after applications are processed. If the application process is not complete and students come to school without money or lunch then parents must pay back the cafeteria immediately.

Children need healthy meals to learn. Rocky Point School District offers healthy meals every school day.

  • Breakfast is also available in all schools for $1.50/meal. See individual school menus for items served.
  • Lunches are $2.60 meal in the Elementary Schools and $2.80 in the Middle and High Schools. Please refer to your child’s school to find out what is available for the current month.
  • Children from households that meet federal income guidelines ( see income chart) might be eligible for free or reduced meals. They would receive breakfast and lunch daily for FREE if approved for reduced meals or will be free if they meet minimum income for their family size.

ALL CHILDREN need a new application each new school year.
Applications for the new year must be in by October 24, 2016.

If an application is received after October 24th, students will be responsible for the cost of their meals until the application is reviewed and approved.

Please note that if a student was free/reduced last year, they are still eligible until October 24th, which is why the applications must be received by October 24th in order to avoid interruption in their free/reduced meal plan. If a new application is received and it is determined that there will be a change in benefits, the most current information will apply immediately.

However, if the application is not received by October 24th then the student is responsible for the cost of their meals from October 24th until date of approval.

Students that were not on the free/reduced plan last year must pay for their meals until the date their application is approved unless it is approved prior to the first day of school. All approvals will be received in the mail and then your child will be eligible for free/reduced meal service.

WHEN RETURNING THIS APPLICATION TO THE FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR FOR PROCESSING, PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE ALL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO EACH CHILD (GRADE AND SCHOOL THEY ATTEND)
