National Recognition for Rocky Point Middle School

The National Forum, an educators’ association dedicated to improving education and school-based supports for all students in the middle grades, has again named Rocky Point Middle School to its Schools to Watch Program.
The National Forum established foundational criteria for the program, which focuses on school improvement efforts characterized by a continuous trajectory toward success. Rocky Point’s level of effectiveness in the areas of social equity, developmental responsiveness, academic excellence and innovative systems were measured with the criteria.
Rocky Point Middle School joins approximately 600 Schools to Watch in 17 states all focused on serving the social, emotional and academic needs of each student in culturally relevant and inclusive ways. It is recognized as an exceptional school that continues to improve each year and serves as a model and mentor for educators from other schools.
Rocky Point Middle School was first designated to the list in 2019.
