Rocky Point School District Represented at SCMEA Music Festival
The Rocky Point School District congratulates 44 students who were selected to participate and perform with various Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association All-County ensembles. SCMEA sponsors and organizes numerous All-County Music Festivals (Band, Orchestra and Chorus) each year for students in grades 5-10. The All-County music festival is an opportunity for students to be rewarded for their individual success on their instrument or voice. The SCMEA All-County Festival provides students with the opportunity to come together play with some of the finest musicians at their age level throughout Suffolk County. Students participate in a series of three weekend rehearsals that culminate with a special concert. SCMEA is a county affiliate of the New York State School Music Association, a state unit of the National Association for Music Education.
A congratulatory message from Rocky Point Music Department Chairpersons Mr. Craig Knapp and Ms. Amy Schecher: “We are very proud of all the students selected to perform at the SCMEA All-County Festival. Their success and achievements are worthy of acknowledgement. It is an honor and distinction to be selected for participation in an All-County Festival. We would also like to thank our incredibly dedicated and hardworking music faculty for taking the extra time to nominate and prepare the students for this special event. Thank you to the families of these talented students for all their support and encouragement.
