What’s In The Box?
Guest author and illustrator Daniel Jude Miller captivated students at Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School with his stories of imagination, inspiration, family, and where he gets his ideas for his many books from.
The author and illustrator of the “Monsters in Manhattan” series, “Everybody Wake Up,” “Halloween Boy and the Christmas Kid” and much more was eager to share his life’s journey in hopes of inspiring JAE students to unleash their own creativity. He told how he finds inspiration in the world around him.
One of his props was a box that inside housed his monster, Ferguson, which he created from discarded household items. He tasked the students with creating their own monsters and writing a story about them to share with him to post on his social media outlets.
Later that evening, the author also did a presentation at the Monster Mash Family Literacy Night.
