JAE Leaders Inspired by Author Daniel Jude Miller
When author and illustrator Daniel Jude Miller visited JAE on March 24, fifth graders in the Academic Leadership Club along with adviser Mr. Mark Yashowitz, jumped at the opportunity to have a working lunch with him.
The more than two dozen students were armed with insightful questions from what the most challenging part of writing a book is, to what time of day is best to write, to who his favorite fictional character is. The students found it interesting that he usually writes the ending of his story first before adding the middle and beginning, noting that as he connects those pieces, he becomes satisfied with his final product.
Mr. Miller noted that he likes spending additional time visiting with students while he is in a school doing a presentation, as it helps him with new ideas for upcoming projects.
