JAE Holiday Concert
On Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, the Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School held its annual Winter Concert at the Rocky Point High School auditorium. Congratulations to Mr. Craig Knapp and the 3rd Grade Chorus and 4th/5th Grade Chorus, Mr. David Ventura and the 5th Grade Orchestra, and Miss Cailyn Monastero and the 5th Grade Band. All groups performed joyful, festive and demanding programs of holiday and winter-themed music. The JAE students kicked off the Rocky Point Concert Series with beautiful sets of performances that were extremely well-received by the audience. In fact, many audience members commented that there were at least six or seven reasons why the JAE Winter Concert was so much fun!
A congratulatory message from Rocky Point music department chairpersons Mr. Craig Knapp and Ms. Amy Schecher read: “We are very proud of the JAE students and the hard-working music staff at JAE! The chorus, band and orchestra students worked exceptionally hard preparing for their concert. Ten weeks is a very short time to put together a quality performance. The students were focused on stage; they did a wonderful job of watching their directors and they performed with great joy. It was a lovely evening of heartwarming and merry music-making. The children were glowing with pride before, during and after the performances. Congratulations to all JAE performing ensembles. This was an unforgettable event for the students and their families. These students deserve to be celebrated. We are very thankful that the Rocky Point School District Administration and Board of Education support these endeavors for the students and the music department.”
