Class of 2026 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Rocky Point High School has announced Valentina Bruno as valedictorian and Peter Lee as salutatorian for the Class of 2026, recognizing their outstanding academic achievement, leadership and dedication.
Bruno earned a weighted grade point average of 106.73 and was named an AP Scholar with Distinction and an AP Capstone Diploma recipient. She also received the Rural and Small Town Recognition Award and was a four-year member of the Principal’s List.
She conducted extensive scientific research, presenting at the Long Island Science Congress, Long Island Science and Engineering Fair and Rocky Point Science Research Symposium. She also participated in ISTEM and BOCES marine science programs, presented at the Long Island Sound Conference and attended a research camp at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Bruno served as student ex-officio on the Rocky Point Board of Education and as treasurer of the National Science Honor Society. She was active in Student Council, Peer Networking, music ensembles and multiple honor societies, and competed in soccer and track and field, earning Suffolk County Girls Soccer Academic All-County honors. She also volunteered at Mather Hospital, interned with Stony Brook Orthopedics and tutored in math and science.
Lee earned a weighted GPA of 104.99 and was also named an AP Scholar with Distinction, a Rural and Small Town Recognition Award recipient and a four-year Principal’s List student.
He was highly involved in robotics, earning FIRST Tech Honors and the Robotics Connect Award, and contributed backstage to school productions. Lee held leadership roles as vice president of the Math Team and treasurer of multiple clubs, including Science Club and Robotics Club. He also participated in Math Team, Science Club and Cricket Club.
A varsity tennis player, Lee earned the Unsung Hero Award and All-Division recognition from the Suffolk Tennis Coaches Association. He was also active in community service, supporting school events and initiatives.
Lee will attend Stony Brook University to study mechanical engineering.
