Rocky Point Middle School Students Honored at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Ceremony

During their recent trip to Washington, D.C., several Rocky Point Middle School students were selected for a truly special honor at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Connor Neligon, Riley Fernandez, Valentina Gandiosi and Meridith Schmidt were chosen to present a wreath during the “Changing of the Guards” ceremony, a moving tribute recognizing the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.
Students earned this opportunity by writing essays expressing their commitment to serving and supporting veterans from all branches of the armed forces. Being selected to represent Rocky Point was an incredible honor and a meaningful moment they will never forget.
We are so proud of these students for representing our school community with respect, compassion and patriotism during this unforgettable experience.
