Rocky Point High School Seniors Answer the Call to Serve

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the Rocky Point School District proudly recognizes a group of graduating seniors who have committed to serving in the United States Armed Forces following graduation.
The district congratulates the following students on their enlistments:
- Armani Batista - U.S. Army
- Christian Cordova - U.S. Army
- Demetrius Harris - U.S. Army
- Jack Krilovitch - U.S. Coast Guard
- Sara Kunnecke - U.S. Air Force
- Lucas Lacey - U.S. Coast Guard
- Bruno Padilla Rosas - U.S. Marine Corps
- Jason Perez - U.S. Marine Corps

Many of the students said their decisions were driven by a desire to serve their country while building strong foundations for their futures through career training, educational opportunities, personal growth and leadership development offered through military service.
Armani Batista said he chose the Army because he believes it will help prepare him for a future career in medicine.
Christian Cordova said family members inspired his decision to enlist. “My dad and uncle served,” he said. Cordova added that he felt comfortable with his recruiter and sees the Army as an opportunity to pursue college and a future career as an IT specialist in cybersecurity.
Demetrius Harris said the Army will help place him on the career path he hopes to pursue.
For Jack Krilovitch and Lucas Lacey, the Coast Guard offered an opportunity to combine service with their love of the water. Krilovitch said he always wanted to join the military and felt the Coast Guard was the best fit because he has always enjoyed being on the water. Lacey said his interest in boats and the Coast Guard aligns with the career path he hopes to explore.
Sara Kunnecke said the Air Force will provide her with a unique experience while helping her stand out professionally and pursue college opportunities.
Bruno Padilla Rosas said he chose the Marine Corps because he believes it will provide direction in his life while instilling discipline.
Jason Perez said the Marine Corps appealed to him because it will help build his confidence and support his goal of pursuing a career in law enforcement.
Cristian Romero said he chose the Army because he wants to serve and protect his country while building a strong foundation for his future.
As the nation honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the country during Memorial Day weekend, the Rocky Point community also recognizes these students for their dedication, courage and commitment to serving others.
The Rocky Point School District thanks these seniors for their willingness to serve and wishes them continued success and safety as they begin their military careers.
