JAE Fourth Graders Continue Longstanding Read-a-Thon Tradition Supporting Madagascar Ankizy Fund

Fourth graders at Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School have kicked off their annual Read-a-Thon in support of the Madagascar Ankizy Fund, continuing a beloved Rocky Point tradition that is now in its 28th year! This special initiative encourages students to read while raising funds to support educational opportunities for children in Madagascar. Through the efforts of JAE fourth graders and the Rocky Point community, The Rocky Point School in Madagascar was built in 2008 and continues to serve local children today. Funds raised through the Madagascar Ankizy Fund help provide education and health care services, including teacher salaries, health and hygiene training, maintenance of clean water wells and the distribution of mosquito nets.
