Successful Spring Concerts for the Rocky Point Middle School

On the evenings of May 13th and 14th, 2026, the Rocky Point Middle School held their series of Spring Concerts. Congratulations to Mr. Hayden Aron and the 6th Grade Chorus, 7th Grade Chorus, and 8th Grade Chorus; Mrs. Meghan Walter and the 6th Grade Orchestra and 8th Grade Orchestra; Mr. Nicholas Butcher and the 7th Grade Orchestra; Mr. Vincent Ragona and the 6th Grade Band; Ms. Amy Schecher and the 7th Grade Band; Ms. Kyra Kenwood-Zeidner and the 8th Grade Band. The groups all performed entertaining, engaging and challenging selections that the students enjoyed. The performances included a variety of repertoire that ranged from classical music to pop music, music from a variety of cultures, music from movies, and folk songs from around the globe! Some of the highlights included Mr. Ventura playing guitar with Mrs. Walter’s 8th Grade Orchestra and a local high school student composing a piece for Mr. Ragona’s 6th Grade Band. It was a terrific set of nights of music making!
A congratulatory message from Rocky Point Music Department chairpersons Mr. Craig Knapp and Ms. Amy Schecher read: “The development and growth made by our student musicians since their concerts in December is remarkable. We are very proud of our fantastic student musicians and we are very lucky to have such a dedicated and hardworking music faculty at the Rocky Point Middle School. Thank you to the families of these extraordinary students for all of their encouragement. Thank you to all of the administrators and Board of Education members in Rocky Point for their continued support of our music programs. Congratulations to all involved in two successful evenings of Middle School Spring Concerts!”
