A congratulatory message from Rocky Point Music Department chairpersons Mr. Craig Knapp and Ms. Amy Schecher read, “The Rocky Point Music Department is proud to celebrate these talented student musicians on their accomplishments. Being selected to a NYSSMA All-State ensemble is an achievement bestowed upon only a small percentage of music students. These incredible students are now part of an exclusive group of high school student musicians throughout New York State. We are confident that these students will represent the Rocky Point Music Department and the Rocky Point High School with the greatest degree of artistry, dedication and Rocky Point Eagle pride. Thank you to the Rocky Point administration and Board of Education for supporting the musical endeavors of our students.”
Mr. Knapp added, “Our school community should also be very proud of our high school music directors, Ms. Amy Schecher (Band) and Ms. Jessica Spitz (Chorus). It takes a tremendous amount of time and dedication to prepare students for festivals of this scale. We are thankful for their continued efforts, for always leading by example, and for facilitating such rich musical experiences for our student musicians.”
