JAE Students Take Top Spot in Summer Reading Challenge

Students at Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School are celebrating a summer of reading after earning a special trophy from the North Shore Public Library for having the most students complete the library’s summer reading program.
Throughout the summer, 450 students across Rocky Point, Shoreham and Wading River participated in the North Shore Public Library’s summer reading program. Participants tracked their reading progress using a game board, working their way through reading goals while earning opportunities to win prizes along the way.
JAE students showed their enthusiasm for reading, with more students from the school completing their game boards than any other participating school. In recognition of their outstanding participation, the North Shore Public Library delivered a trophy to JAE, which will have a special home in the JAE school library throughout the year.
