What does a councilperson accomplish?
That was a question answered when Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Jane Bonner visited Lauren Verderosa’s class at Rocky Point Middle School on March 8.
Students learned many of the highlights of Mrs. Bonner’s service in helping local Rocky Point residents for the past 16 years solve problems locally and navigate through the levels of government agencies from town, county, state and federal. She shared several local initiatives she has spearheaded or taken part in, including educational, environmental and revitalization projects that help to make her council district of Rocky Point and surrounding communities a great place to live.
