“We were honored to be part of the ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier,” Rocky Point Middle School Principal Dawn Meyers said. “It really put into context the true reason of Memorial Day for our students and helped them fully understand the sacrifices of American service members. The ceremony was an important part of the multifaceted educational experience combining history, civics, politics, culture and science, fostering critical thinking, civic engagement and a deeper appreciation for the complexities of the world around them.”
